Biography:

Jason Curtis (Tyree) is an American recording artist, songwriter, musician, and a professional graphic designer. Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and raised in Richmond, Virginia, he the youngest child of Linda and 3rd youngest child of William Tyree. Since the age of 3, Jason has been able to play the piano/keyboard by ear. By age 6, he played a saxophone solo for his church in Philadelphia, PA. By age 10, he started playing the French Horn for his middle school concert band. He was the first-string French Horn player for his entire tenure in middle school. By the age of 12, he was dubbed “Golden Fingers” for his unique ability to play the piano/organ by ear, which led to him conducting 4 different choirs at his local church in Richmond, VA. Also at the same age, he learned how to play the trombone and eventually started playing for his middle school jazz band. By the time he graduated from high school, Jason could play up to 13 instruments and excelled in 6 of the 13 instruments (piano, french horn, trombone, clarinet, drums, and xylophones).

Upon attending Oral Roberts University, he began to shift his focus to songwriting and graphic design. On academic probation, Jason entered college as a music major and quickly changed his major to graphic design, because of his success in the Center of The Arts specialty program at his high school. By the time he received his Bachelors of Science in Graphic Design, he went from being on academic probation to making the Vice President’s academic list twice. As a sophomore in college, Jason also started writing and performing for the first time. His inspiration to perform came from his mother, who was a profession singer/performing artist. His motivation from writing music came from writing many parodies, and winning national awards for poetry in the 11th grade. Currently, he is one-half of the Christian Hip-hop group TwoThree. TwoThree has shared the stage with the likes of Fedel, Cash Hollistah, Out of Eden, Grits, KJ-52, Tye Tribbett, and Pretty Willie (P-Dub). On December 14, 2010, the group released their debut album entitled “The W.A.Y.”

In 2006, Jason married studio artist LaShona, whom he met in college. The couple have three children: Jeremiah (b. October 2007), A’Niyah (b. July 2009), and Reinah (b. June 2010). Jason is the distant cousin of 2007 Super Bowl Champion David Tyree.
